Rally against early marriage and early pregnancy; Nalhati-I BPHC
Early marriage and early pregnancy are both serious issues that have long-term and short-term negative consequences. Early marriage can negatively affect access to education, economic security, physical and mental health, and can place an increased burden on a child to provide for the family. This can lead to feelings of insecurity, depression, and increased drop-out rates. Early pregnancy is associated with health risks to both mother and child, including an increased risk of complications during delivery, anemia, and lack of access to vital services and health care during pregnancy and delivery. It also increases the likelihood of early motherhood, which can lead to social and economic disadvantages for the girl and her child. Additionally, early pregnancy can lead to a greater risk of gender-based violence and death due to unsafe abortions.
